Ongoing Collaborations

IISER Kolkata Team

The collaborative programme encompasses several directions in modern nanooptics and plasmonics covering areas ranging from spin, polarization optics and SOI to magnetoplasmonics, scattering and diffraction of structured vector beams including Fourier and Stokes imaging. All experimental activities are carried out at IISER Kolkata.

IACS Kolkata Team

Projects undertaken are on two different aspects of quantum optics, namely (a) extracting negative index behaviour from polar molecules and (b) generating correlated photon pairs from coupled cavities containing 3-level atoms. All calculations are based on a density matrix approach.

  • Prof Bimalendu Deb

Bimalendu Deb obtained his Ph.D. (Physics) in 1997 from Jadavpur University. He held Post-doctoral Research position during 1997-2001 at Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel (1997-2000) and at Georgia-Tech, USA (2000-2001). Prior to joining IACS Kolkata in 2006 he was a faculty at Laser Physics Division, Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad. He is now a Senior Professor at IACS Kolkata
