Note: The payment gateway will allow direct endowment upto 5 Lakhs. If you wish to donate more than 5 lakhs ($8000), please contact us. We will shortly get in touch with you to facilitate your generous contribution.

Technology initiative: Our laboratory works at the cutting edge of science and engineering. We train students and researchers to be hands-on in building instruments that help them perform their research in condensed matter physics. Some of our in-house capabilities are:

We house the world's first cryogen free STM (based temperature of 12K) with a cryogen-free superconducting vector magnet that was integrated in our lab.

We house a unique multi-source turret-style UHV RF/DC sputtering chamber with the capability of local gas injection for inert and reactive sputtering. This system was indeginously designed and assembled by us. The special design makes the system unique in the world.

We try to support other institutions in the country to provide them cost effective solutions to help their R&D programs. Your contributions will support our in-house innovations.

Please visit Lab facilities for details.

Research Initiative: Our research program can be viewed at this link. We would be happy to provide you with a lab tour and discuss the recent research initiatives of our group. Please contact us to schedule a lab tour.

We need your support:

  • To continue our effort to produce/train experimentalists who can internationally compete and contribute to various R & D programs in the country
  • To help students and young researchers travel to international conferences that provides them the right exposure and competitive environment to excel in science
  • To provide us with the flexibility to initiate new projects of technological and national importance
  • Contribute to the condensed matter research activity at TIFR Hyderabad which is envisioned to be the best in the country.

Tax benefit for supporting our research program:

1. Contributions made towards scientific research to the TIFR are exempted under Section 35(1)(ii) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
Section 35: Notified Scientific Research Association
2. Contributors in India can avail 100% tax exemption under Section 80G (2) (a) (iiif) of the Income Tax Act, 1961
3. Corporate may avail the provisions of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR Rules, 2014).
