  • July 2023: Patent application for the cross fringe Fizeau interferometer based wavemeter developed in our lab is filed
  • June 2023: Prof. Nabanita Deb (IACS) visits our lab and this visit kick starts our discussions on atomic/molecular collisions and chemical transformations in the cold regime

  • Dec 2022: Our proposal on developing QCL based excitation schemes for quantum state selected scattering experiments is accepted
  • Nov 2022: Geetika, Avinash and Saurabh present their work in the 18th SDMC meeting
  • Nov 2022: We see the first signal for the vibration state selected preparation of CO molecules using our home-built narrow line width and high intensity OPO/A system !
  • Nov 2022: Our work on Neutral Atom Microscopy is recognized by the Indian Physics Association for this years award under the instrumentation category
  • Oct 2022: An improved version of our stabilized red He Ne laser achieves ~ 0.42 MHz stability (3 std dev, 17 hrs). See details on https://arxiv.org/abs/2202.09577
  • Sept 2022: Geetika and Saurabh perform the first Helium reflectivity experiments in our new UHV chamber. Using the compact He source designed by Geetika, they are able to follow the oxidation of a Cu(110) surface in real-time !
  • Sept 2022: Pranav and Avinash participate in the Scattering of atoms and molecules from surfaces meeting organized by Cambridge University, UK.
  • Sept 2022: Measurements of Helium reflection and using it to measure reaction probability on surfaces using our compact ‘segmented needle based compact atom source’ shows very promising results.
  • Aug 2022: Molecule surface scattering set up designed by us finally arrives in our lab
