Welcome to the webpage of the Sensory and Synapse Biology Lab. Research in our lab is broadly motivated by a desire to study the molecular and cellular biology of sensory systems as well as neuronal synapses. We are interested in understanding the detection of sensory stimuli in the periphery as well as the transformation of sensory processing via neuronal synapses. We are also invested in studying how neuronal synapse dysfunction can lead to psychiatric disorders. In addition to using the tools of classical molecular biology and biochemistry, we develop single molecule microscopy to investigate structure-function relationships.
Trainees interested in the lab are advised to visit the contact information tab for further details.
